1、reason作名詞時,常用：

①The reason is that．．．;

②the reason why．．．.如果先行詞reason在從句中作主語或賓語時,則用that或which,不用why;

③by reason of由於……的緣故；

④for．．．reason／reasons由於……的原因；

⑤out of all reason不合情理；

⑥with reason有充分的理由。

2、reason與cause用法不同：reason側重指某種看法或行為的理由,與for連用；cause側重指某個事實或現象的原因,與of連用。

3、reason作不及物動詞意為“評論”。
