1、名詞

（1）名詞的可數與不可數

可數名詞指表示的人或事物可以用數來計量，它有單數與複數兩種形式。不可數名詞指所表示的事物不能用數來計量。物質名詞與抽象名詞一般無法用數目，來統計，都成為不可數名詞。

不可數名詞前一般不能用冠詞a、an來表示數量，沒有複數形式。要表示“一個……”這一概念，就須加a piece of這一類短語。要注意許多名詞在漢語裡看來是可數名詞，在英語裡卻不可數。如：chalk，paper，bread，rice，grass，news等。

（2）名詞複數的規則變化。

（1）數字的表示

三位數數詞要在百位和十位(若無十位則和個位)之間加and。

1，000以上的數字，從後向前第三位數加一個“，”，第一個“，”前為thousand，第二個“，”前為million，第三個“，”前為billion。

（2）序數詞除了first，second，third外，其餘都在基數詞尾加-th構成。

（3）分數分子在前，分母在後，分子用基數詞，分母用序數詞，當分子大於1小時，分母序數詞要變成複數。

（1）表示時間的介詞及介詞短語
